These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of Scoreline (the "Service"), a live scoring and broadcast-overlay service for snooker, pool and darts, available at scoreline.brownzmedia.co.uk.
The Service is operated by BROWNZ MEDIA SERVICES LTD ("Brownz Media", "we", "us" or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17225531. You can contact us at phil@brownzmedia.co.uk.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. Access to the Service is currently invite-only: you need a valid invitation to register. By registering you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to accept these Terms (including on behalf of any club or organisation you represent).
Scoreline lets you create clubs, manage a roster of players, score matches and generate live on-screen overlays and table views for streaming and venue display. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your own scoring and broadcasting purposes.
The Service is under active development. We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time, and some features may be offered on a trial or experimental basis.
Scoreboard and table views are intended to be publicly accessible so that spectators, TVs and streaming software (such as OBS) can display them without an account. Each match view is reachable via a short, hard-to-guess match ID. You should treat these links as semi-public and only share them where you are content for the live scores to be seen. We are not responsible for onward sharing of these links by you or others.
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service, including club names, league names, player names, handicaps, nicknames, notes and match data ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to submit it, including the right to add information about third parties (such as players in your roster). Where you add personal data about other people, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so and for informing those individuals as required by applicable data protection law. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
Your use of the Service must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary, you must not misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use it for unlawful or abusive purposes.
Scoreline offers a free plan and one or more paid subscription plans ("Paid Plans"). The features included in each plan, and the current prices, are shown on the Service. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP).
Paid Plans may be offered with a free trial (currently 30 days). You may be asked for payment details when the trial begins. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will start automatically and your payment method will be charged for the first billing period. You can cancel at any time during the trial at no charge.
We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to the prices shown. If this changes, we will update these Terms and the prices shown on the Service.
We may change our prices or the features included in a plan. If we change the price of a plan you are subscribed to, we will give you reasonable advance notice, and the new price will apply from your next billing period. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
You can cancel a Paid Plan at any time from your account billing settings (the Stripe customer portal) or by contacting us at phil@brownzmedia.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep your Paid Plan features until then, after which your club reverts to the free plan.
Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, for downgrades, or for periods in which you did not use the Service. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics and the Scoreline and Brownz Media names and logos, is owned by or licensed to Brownz Media and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, nothing transfers any of those rights to you. You must not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the Service except to the extent permitted by law.
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example for hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing and content delivery). Your use of the Service may be affected by those providers, and their availability is outside our control. The third parties we use to process data are listed in our Privacy Policy.
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that scores, statistics or other output will always be accurate. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations not expressly set out in these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service, including any claim relating to Your Content or to personal data you submit about third parties.
You may stop using the Service and ask us to close your account at any time by contacting phil@brownzmedia.co.uk. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, the rights granted to you end, though provisions that by their nature should survive (including sections 5, 8, 11, 12 and 16) will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example by email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer you may also be able to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to phil@brownzmedia.co.uk.
