Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BROWNZ MEDIA SERVICES LTD ("Brownz Media", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use Scoreline (the "Service") at scoreline.brownzmedia.co.uk.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17225531. For any privacy or data protection request, contact us at phil@brownzmedia.co.uk.

1. The personal data we collect

Information you provide

• Account data — your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash). We may also hold a display name.
• Access-request data — if you request access to the Service, the contact details you submit in the request form.
• Club and roster data — club names, league names, and the players you add to your roster, which may include their names, handicaps, nicknames and free-text notes.
• Match data — players, scores, frames, legs, results and statistics for the matches you score.
• Billing data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, we hold your plan, subscription status and billing dates, and identifiers linking your club to our payment processor (Stripe). Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and processed by them — we never see or store your full card number.
• Correspondence — any messages you send us, for example by email.

Information we collect automatically

• Technical and log data — IP address, browser and device information, and server logs generated when you use the Service.
• Cookies — a single strictly-necessary session cookie used to keep you signed in. See our Cookie Policy for details.

2. Player and third-party data

When you add players to a club roster or record match results, you may be entering personal data about other people. For that data, you determine why and how it is used, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis and for informing those individuals where required. We process that data on your behalf to provide the Service, and the public scoreboard and table views may display player names during a match. If you are an individual whose details appear in a club roster and you have a query, please contact the club that added you, or contact us and we will help direct your request.

We do not use your personal data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. Sharing your data and our processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers (processors) who help us run the Service, and where required by law. Our key processors are:

We may also disclose data if required to comply with the law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Brownz Media or others. If our business is reorganised, sold or transferred, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. International transfers

Some of our processors are located outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, so that your data continues to receive an equivalent level of protection.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we will delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. In particular, billing and transaction records are kept for at least six years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements. Server logs are kept only for as long as needed for security and operational purposes.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including transport encryption (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls. Spectator scoreboard and table views are publicly accessible by design; please keep match links private if you do not want the live scores to be seen. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased in certain circumstances;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• data portability; and
• withdraw consent where we rely on it (without affecting prior processing).

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children and accounts are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, where changes are material, take reasonable steps to notify you. The "last updated" date above shows when it was last revised.
